چکیده

In Sweden, drainage and the construction of water infrastructure have influenced agriculture in last few centuries both positively negatively. Recently, a trend has set where wetlands are constructed to retain water, reduce nutrients enhance biodiversity. This study aimed use remote sensing techniques landscape retention over time. this pilot study, structures Gotland (57°28′35.0′′N18°29′ 13.9′′E) Kalmar Län (56°39′41′′N16°21′46′′E) for 2000/2001 2020 were identified analyzed using Landsat data. it was found that number (>0.8 ha) increased from 44 101 127 Län. Most <4 ha located mid- downstream areas. A comparison sensed results with Swedish Meteorological Hydrological Institute (SMHI) database showed disagreement spatial coordinates structures. shown data can be used identify structures, although higher resolution imagery would highly advisable these kinds studies.

Inland wetlands mapping and vulnerability assessment using an integrated geographic information system and remote sensing techniques

The understanding of inland wetlands’ distribution and their level of vulnerability is important to enhance management and conservation efforts. The aim of the study was to map inland wetlands and assess their distribution pattern and vulnerability to natural and human disturbances such as climate change (temperature increase) and human activities by the year 2080. Inland wetland types i.e. for...

KLEMAS, V., 2011. Remote sensing of wetlands: case studies comparing practical techniques. Journal of Coastal Research, 27(3), 418–427. West Palm Beach (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208. To plan for wetland protection and sensible coastal development, scientists and managers need to monitor the changes in coastal wetlands as the sea level continues to rise and the coastal population keeps expanding. Prioritization of Watersheds across Mali Using Remote Sensing Data and GIS Techniques for Agricultural Development Planning

Implementing agricultural water management programs over appropriate spatial extents can have positive effects on water access and erosion management. Lack of access to water for domestic and agricultural uses represents a major constraint on agricultural productivity and perpetuates poverty and hunger in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). This lack of access is the result of erratic precipitation, poor...

Pathogen Removal by Agricultural Constructed Wetlands in Cold Climates

Constructed treatment wetlands have been found to remove fecal coliform (FC) through a variety of mechanisms. This research evaluated the removal of FC in both warm and cold seasons from surface flow treatment wetlands in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Two wetlands (100 m), of differing depths were monitored over a 17 month period. The wetlands were loaded with dairy wastewater (average inlet FC conc...

Mapping small wetlands of Kenya and Tanzania using remote sensing techniques

Although wetlands in Tanzania and Kenya have great potentials for agricultural production and a multitude of uses, many of them are not even documented on official maps. Lack of official recognition has done little in preventing there over utilization. As the wetlands continue to play remarkable roles in the movement of people and terrestrial species in the region, it is important that they are...
